Singer and television personality Stan Walker is teaming up with Uber and the Red Cross to encourage Kiwis to donate quality clothing this October.

The campaign, running in major centres, offers free courier pickups through the Uber app – making it easier than ever to give back to the community.

“I’m my own stylist. I just wear what I feel like feels good to me and looks good to me. And I’m just all good with wearing that. And sometimes it looks a little bit different to people, but I’m like, Oh, this is just me,” says Walker.

Known for his unique sense of style, Walker says fashion is about self-expression and confidence.

He’s a longtime supporter of op shopping and believes in giving clothes a second life.

“I have a lot of kākahu. I’ve got wardrobes worth of kākahu. And I feel like there was a time where I was just chucking stuff away, and I just felt like there was just moumou. Moumou as… Over the last few years, I’ve been donating them. I’ve been giving them to whānau. Whānau know, when I’ve got the big black rubbish bags out, they’re already in there. So this is just the perfect kaupapa that fits already with what I’m doing,” says Walker.

His message is simple: donate with aroha, express yourself, and be proud of your identity.
