The Social Investment Agency has launched a new funding round for community organisations tackling tough social issues.

Pathway One of the Social Investment Fund is now open, offering up to $2 million a year for initiatives supporting vulnerable children—especially those with parents in prison, in state care, or suspended from school before age 13.

Social Investment Minister Nicola Willis says the Fund enables the Government to invest earlier, smarter, and with a much more transparent measurement of impact.

Māori and Pacific providers, Whānau Ora groups, and community trusts are encouraged to apply.

The first step is a Registration of Interest, open until midday on 23 September.

Shortlisted applicants will submit full proposals in October, with funding focused on outcomes like better health, housing, education, and employment.
