Te Pāti Māori co-leader Rawiri Waititi says ACT didn’t just take offense but “the whole gate” over his wife’s social media post.
Kiri Waititi shared a photo of Rawiri with a weedeater, joking he should treat the grass like ACT co-leader David Seymour and give it a “good … hiding.”
ACT claimed Waititi was endorsing violence against Seymour and should be held to the same standard as any other MP.
Waititi argues there’s a double standard, pointing out ACT dealing no consequences to Seymour for his 2023 Guy Fawkes joke or sharing a Covid-19 priority vaccination code in 2021.
“I really love my lawn. I wouldn’t compare it to David Seymour at all, because he’s at the other end of the spectrum. In regards to my feelings, laughs, ” says Waititi.
Waititi says this squabble distracts from Whānau Ora changes impacting hundreds of whānau across the motu.
