Sports commentator Ken Laban says Joseph Parker is strong, powerful, and a mature future world heavyweight contender.
Papatoetoe-based boxer Joseph Parker moves one step closer to the heavyweight title, knocking out Martin Bakole in the second round to claim the WBO interim Heavyweight title in Saudi Arabia.
Laban says everyone in Parker’s division is hunting for a title shot, and Parker proved he’s ready to go 12 rounds, even though he only needed two.
“You know, at 34 years old, he’s had a few setbacks, and he’s looking mature, he’s looking strong, and he’s looking confident. So I think overall, other than the disruption of a changed opponent at the last minute, I think they would be very encouraged by their performance,” says Laban.
After the fight, Parker calls out WBA, WBO, and IBA champion Oleksandr Usyk, the man who defeated and retired Tyson Fury.
