The Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa New Zealand Geographic Board have announced decisions on 12 place name proposals.
The Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa New Zealand Geographic Board have announced decisions on 12 place name proposals.
Released yesterday, among the names approved is Te Tōangaroa, which is the area where Spark Arena and the Strand Railway Station are, Pūāwhē at the peak of Pirongia.
However, the renaming of Takanini to Takaanini or Petone to Pito One was declined alongside 6 other proposals.
Minister for Land Information Chris Penk made the final decisions.
