With summer in full swing, iwi and hapū from across the motu gathered for the Māori Touch Nationals 2024.
In Rotorua last weekend, 60 tāne, wāhine, and mixed teams competed, with age groups ranging from under 17 to over 40.
Ngāti Hine, Maniapoto, Ngāti Porou, Tainui, and Hauraki each won one pool competition.
Tamatoa Kirikiriroa claimed victory in both the over-30s and over-40s divisions, while Te Arawa triumphed in the 30 Tāne / 27 Wāhine mixed category and the Open Men’s competition.
This coming weekend, the National Secondary School Touch Tournament will take place at the same venue, Rotorua Stadium.
