France’s broadcast of All Blacks’ haka praised
Sports commentator Ken Laban says France delivered a masterclass in broadcasting the All Blacks’ haka.
Yesterday morning, the All Blacks lost to France 30-29 in Paris, marking their third consecutive defeat against the French.
Laban says France’s reputation as exceptional storytellers in sports coverage was on full display, comparing the French Open’s production quality to that of the American Super Bowl or NBA Finals.
“Their ability to capture emotion, empathy, culture, and showcase those big moments. I thought that was magnificent. I thought that was from a television perspective, that is the best broadcast of a haka in the history of sport. They did a fantastic job,” says Laban.
Ken Laban says the respect the French showed the haka created a moment of theatre and spectacle, amplifying the significance of the game.
