New Zealanders are being called to stand as a nation to reclaim an official Guinness World Records title for the world’s largest haka.
The record of 4,028 people was set in France 10 years ago.
Dame Hinewehi Mohi came up with the idea of reclaiming it as a way to raise funds for her Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust.
The effort will be made at Eden Park on Sunday at 8pm, after a little practice.
“So people are asked to be there at 5, 5.30pm if they can so we can get some semblance on the cricket oval. Once we’re ready to go in, Ngāti Whātua will put the call out to Ngāti Toa who will lead the big kapa haka of five, six, seven eight 10,000 on to the pitch at Eden Park,” she says
