A member’s bill from Green Party MP Hūhana Lyndon to stop compulsory taking of Māori land by central or local government has been drawn from the ballot.
The Northland-based MP hopes to get cross-party support for the amendment to the Public Works Act 1981.
She says not one more acre of whenua Māori should be taken by the Crown.
A similar bill in the name of former Green MP Catherine Delahunty was voted down in 2016.
