Parents need to be on hook for school beatings
Auckland councillor and former police officer Alf Filipaina says it’s time to make a stand against students fighting and bullying.
This follows a vicious attack last week on a Marcellin College student by about 10 Mangere College in a Bader Drive carpark.
Mr Filipaina says it’s a long-standing problem, not just South Auckland, but it has to stop.
Police are looking at cctv footage and he hopes the attackers are found
“Everybody now needs to work together to make sure thse sudents are found, identified and made accountable and for things to start working in the schools, even with the pareants and polic and community youth groups. I think that’s where we need to be heading,” Mr Filipaina says.
He applauds the couple who stepped in to rescue the boy, but other students and members of the public stood by.
