No sense in Parliament Destiny date
Greens MP Teanau Tuiono says he can’t make sense of today’s protest at Parliament.
Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki and anti co-governance campaigner Julian Bachelor led about 1000 supporters on to parliament ground, with other speakers including Voice New Zealand Partly leader Hannah Tamaki and anti-vaxxer Sue Grey.
Chants included “leave our kids alone” and “abandon Agenda 2030”.
Mr Tuiono says it seemed to be a bunch of conspiracy theories thrown together.
“I’ve no idea what their kaupapa is. It looked unhinged last time. They don’t make sense,” he says.
Mr Tuiono says Wellingtonians are concerned about such protests in the wake of last year’s occupation – and they remember how the children’s playground was burned down.
The crowd dispersed about 1pm.
