A new hauora van has been launched in Auckland which will focus on protecting hāpu māma, their pēpi and tamariki from preventable diseases.
Associate Health Minister Willow-Jean Prime says mobile health vans provide an accessible and convenient way for hāpu māmā to receive antenatal immunisations, which is now a key priority in Tāmaki Makaurau where rates fell off sharply during the pandemic.
The van can also be used for cervical screening and other health checks.
A second van will be launched in July.
