Seymour sicko with stupid talk – Jackson
Labour Cabinet Minister Willie Jackson says David Seymour’s comments about former prime minister Jacinda Ardern don’t reflect well on the ACT leader.
Ms Ardern made her valedictory speech sharing her experiences dealing with major crises like Covid, the Christchurch shootings and the Whakaari eruption, and also defending her work to uphold the Treaty of Waitangi.
In a podcast this week with Max Key, the son of former National Party PM John Key, Mr Seymour said Ms Ardern would not have been part of any supposed conspiracy on Covid-19 because she was “too dumb” and would “screw it up”.
Mr Jackson says it was a crude attack on mana wāhine.
“He’s worth talking about so people can understand the type of politician we’re dealing with and how dangerous he is to be talking so disparagingly about this mana wahine. It’s beyond belief. it makes me angry and it makes me sick actually,” he says.
Mr Jackson says there was tears and laughter as the Labour caucus bid farewell to their former leader.
