Grant Robertson named Cyclone Recovery Minister

Download AudioFinance Minister Grant Robertson has been named Minister for Cyclone Recovery Minister, with Barbara Edmonds as his Minister.
He immediately established a $50 million fund has been established to assist businesses and workers in the primary sector.
“The fund will provide a range of support depending on need, but it is expected to include discretionary funding for flood recovery, business continuity, resiliance advice and for mental health support. Ministers will finalise the allocation of this fund in the coming week and we will do so in cooperation with busines associations, local government and iwi,” Mr Robertson says.
An additional $250million has been allocated to fix both main highways and local roads,
Meanwhile the Minister for Emergency Management, Kieran McAnulty, has extended the State of Emergency for a further 7 days.
