That’s the response from Prime Minister Jacinda Arden and her Pacific People’s Minister Aupito William Sio to Opposition leader Chris Luxon’s comments that the gang life looks good to rangatahi sitting in South Auckland garages.
“To stereotype an entire generation that way is just wrong. There was something that stood out which I will quote from Minister Sio ‘Luxon does not know South Auckland young people because the majority are good, law abiding, who listen their parents, give back to their communities through sports and the church and lead good lives,'” she says.
Ms Ardern says that’s what she knows South Auckland to be as well.
