Time to boost as Covid cases rise
With Covid cases on the rise, Māori are being urged to get the booster as soon as they are eligible.
Reported new cases are climbing towards 6000 a day, with at least that again not being reported.
Dr Zarah Allport, the medical director of Te Whanau o Waipareira’s Waipuna clinic, says many Maori may not be aware they’re how eligible for the second booster if they’re 40 or over.
“If you are eligible definitely go and get it because what we know about Covid is that those boosters just take our immunity to that extra level and help us carry on a bit higher,” she says.
Dr Allport says people who’ve had Covid must wait for three months until they get boosted.
