Tumuaki Lucy Te Moana says both today and Saturday will be a mixture of whakangahau rōpū and whakataetae performances as schools compete for a spot in next year’s nationals.
She’s excited to see what the schools have to bring.
“It’s not just kura kaupapa schools that are standing. We also have some of our mainstream bilingual schools as well. Some of our schools it’s the first time for them, so very exciting,” Ms Te Moana says.
