Outward Bound has re-signed its agreement to work with Te Ātiawa o Te Waka-a-Māui.
Chief executive Malindi MacLean says the relationship with the iwi is a vital partnership for the outdoor school based in Anakiwa in the Marlborough Sounds.
The partnership was formed in 2004, with Te Ātiawa and Outward Bound discovering their shared values.
In recent years Outward Bound has worked with Te Ātiawa on a campaign was to upgrade and future-proof the school’s facilities, included the launching of a new waka ama fleet in 2017 and the launch of the new safety vessel Rāhiri this year.
