Local Government Minister in ballot paper hunt

Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta says people who didn’t receive their voting papers for tomorrow’s local body elections can still go to their council office and cast a special vote.
She says in her own Ngaruawahia community, many Maori haven’t received voting packs.
“I hope this is not widespread. A review will enable us to see whether or not there were big and systemic issues around the running of the local body election. But we can’t wait, we’ve got to take some responsibility and get into the council, get our ballot papers if we haven’t received them and place our vote,” she says.
Ms Mahuta says those who don’t vote give added power to those who do.
