Interest in Māori links from India trade trip
Associate Agriculture minister Meka Whaitiri sees huge opportunities for Māori business in India.
Meka Whaitiri says ministers she met on her recent visit to the subcontinent expressed keen interest on in New Zealand.
She’s keen to take Maori business people there, and officials are working on some of the ideas raised.
“In the Maori space definitely they were keen to look at scholarships, education exchange between m and their first nations people, not so much dairy – I was told dairy was off the table – but definitely in our horticulture, apples and kiwifruit,” Ms Whaitiri says.
She expects a return ministerial visit to Aotearoa before the end of the year.
