Kora frontman Fran Kora says working on Waiata Anthems is sending him back to school .

Kia Arohatia Tātou / All We Need dropped this week as part of the 2022 Waiata Anthems release.

Kora got his cousin Donny Te Kanapu Anasta to translate the song into Tuhoe mita.

That experience inspired him to enroll at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.

“So now that I’m older and more assured of who I am it’s time for me to take the bull by the horns so I’ve enrolled in a kura that starts next year. Time to start that journey now, which is awesome,” he says.

The TVNZ On Demand video of the song includes Fran Kora talking about his disconnection from te reo despite his father being a first language speaker.
