Irish-kiwi crime drama chance for career start

A Māori filmmaker says it’s a great time for young Māori who want to find a place in film and television.
Reikura Kahi is looking for trainees for a number of roles for an Irish-New Zealand crime drama to be filmed in Auckland and Te Aroha next month, including cameras, accounts, location producers, costume and grips, as well as actors and extras.
She says she’s always looking for enthusiastic young people, as there are a lot of productions going on in Aotearoa.
“This is a chance for us especially to encourage a lot of young Māori people to get into the industry and see this as a viable industry to be in,” Ms Kahi says.
It’s all paid mahi for up to 12 weeks – with opportunities to go onto full-time work in a growing industry.
