Respiratory disease is one of the most common causes of death in Aotearoa and costs the country $6.7Billion per annum. Māori are overrepresented in every respiratory category, including asthma, pneumonia, hospitalisation and death.
- Radio Waatea is Auckland's only Māori radio station that provides an extensive bi-lingual broadcast to its listeners. Based at Nga Whare Waatea marae in Mangere, it is located in the middle of the biggest Māori population in Aotearoa.
