Ngātiwai event celebrates Māori love of horses
One of the organisers of the Ngātiwai Horseman's Challenge in Northland over the weekend says one of its key aims is to keep the Māori love for horses and riding alive.

Hundreds came to watch and participate in the annual Ngātiwai Hōiho Challenge last weekend in Mimiwhangata, from Kataia, Hokianga, Kaipara, Whangārei, Tāmaki, Ngaruawahia, Kawhia, Opotiki, Gisborne, Tokomaru, Tologa, Matakana Island, Tauranga and all across the motu.
- Radio Waatea is Auckland's only Māori radio station that provides an extensive bi-lingual broadcast to its listeners. Based at Nga Whare Waatea marae in Mangere, it is located in the middle of the biggest Māori population in Aotearoa.
