An advocate for changing Russell back to its original name of Kororāreka says people support the change once they realise the British lord it was named after never stepped foot in Aotearoa.

Kororāreka gains support to return to original name
The chair of Kororāreka Marae says there is widespread support from Russell residents for the township's original name to be restored.
- Radio Waatea is Auckland's only Māori radio station that provides an extensive bi-lingual broadcast to its listeners. Based at Nga Whare Waatea marae in Mangere, it is located in the middle of the biggest Māori population in Aotearoa.
