Brisbane Broncos superstar Reece Walsh is taking his profile beyond rugby league, signing an ambassadorial partnership with NFL powerhouse the Seattle Seahawks.
The 24-year-old fullback has joined the Seahawks as part of the franchise’s growing push into Australia and New Zealand, becoming one of its first ambassadors in the region alongside Canberra Raiders forward Hudson Young. The Seahawks have confirmed they are expanding their presence across both countries through their international 12s Everywhere programme.
Walsh’s deal comes as American football dramatically increases its profile Down Under, with the Broncos star recently attending the NFL’s Melbourne game between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams at the MCG.
Reports suggest Walsh could now become a prominent face in Seattle’s efforts to secure a place in a future NFL game in Melbourne.
It is another major milestone for a player who has become one of rugby league’s most recognisable stars. Walsh remains contracted to Brisbane through the end of the 2029 NRL season, giving the Broncos long-term security around their electrifying fullback.
