#hakinakina: Scotland Stun France To Blow Six Nations Title Race Wide Open
Scotland has delivered one of the most dramatic results of the 2026 Six Nations Championship, defeating France 50–40 in a thrilling contest at Murrayfield and throwing the title race wide open heading into the final round.
The Scots produced an attacking masterclass, scoring seven tries to six in a high-scoring clash that ranks among their most memorable performances in recent years.
Wingers Darcy Graham and Kyle Steyn each crossed for two tries, while Pierre Schoeman, Ben White and Tom Jordan also added tries in a relentless display that repeatedly exposed France’s defence.
At one stage Scotland surged into a commanding lead after piling on a huge run of points during the middle stages of the match. France mounted a late comeback with several tries of their own, but the damage had already been done as Scotland secured a crucial bonus-point victory.
The win not only ended France’s hopes of clinching the championship early but also ended their Grand Slam ambitions for the year.
With the result, France and Scotland now sit level on 16 points at the top of the Six Nations standings, while Ireland remains within reach on 14 points.
The championship will now be decided on the final weekend of the tournament. Scotland must beat Ireland in Dublin to keep its title hopes alive, while France will look to secure the championship when it faces England in Paris.
The performance marks one of Scotland’s highest-scoring victories against France and signals the nation’s strongest push for the Six Nations crown in decades, setting up a dramatic finish to this year’s championship.
