Police have charged two people with murder following a fatal shooting in Manurewa on Friday night. Counties Manukau Police say emergency services were called to a home on Balfour Road at about 11.10 p.m. on January 9 after reports that a person had been shot. When police arrived, the victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Karen Bright, of Counties Manukau CIB, says that a 41-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have been jointly charged with murder and are set to appear in the Manukau District Court today.
Police are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing. Victim support services are working with whānau at this difficult time, and police may release further details about the victim in due course.
Because this case is now before the courts, police say they are limited in what further information they can publicly share.
