Search Intensifies for Missing Christchurch Girl Known as Cobra
The search for missing Christchurch teenager Cobra continues, with whānau and community groups stepping up support efforts as police pass the one-week mark since her disappearance.
The 14-year-old was last seen leaving her school on 17 November and has not returned home or made contact with family. Police believe she may still be in the central city area, possibly staying with friends or acquaintances.
Māori youth workers in Ōtautahi have begun checking skate parks, shopping centres and known teen hangout spots. Several community organisations have also joined the effort, distributing her photo and urging anyone who may have seen her to come forward.
Whānau say they are exhausted but holding onto hope. They are asking members of the Māori community to check garages, spare rooms and sleep-outs, as young people sometimes hide in familiar places when feeling overwhelmed.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 105, quoting file number 251118/2758, or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
