Police are in attendance at a house fire in Sanson. Emergency services were called to the property southwest of the township around 2:30pm.
There is a significant Police and Fire and Emergency presence at the property. As a result, State Highway 1 between Phillips Street and Speedy Road is closed while emergency services work at the scene.
Motorists are asked to follow the posted diversions.
Waatea understands there are fatalities.
