Pacific Chiefs Back Māori Queen at Koroneihana 2025

Pacific leaders have reaffirmed their support for the Kiingitanga at Tūrangawaewae, marking one year since Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po coronation.

Royals and high chiefs from Tonga, Tahiti, Hawai‘i, Fiji and the Cook Islands praised her leadership and pledged unity across Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa.

Kiingitanga spokesperson Rahui Papa says the gathering celebrated shared whakapapa and Indigenous strength, with Te Arikinui calling for native languages and traditional knowledge to guide future solutions.
