Next week, the High Court in Wellington will hear a landmark case challenging the Crown’s disestablishment of Te Aka Whai Ora. The applicants, including Te Puna Ora’s Dr Chris Tooley, argue the move breached Māori rights under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act, both through a lack of consultation and the negative impact on Māori health outcomes
