Food prices in Aotearoa continue to climb, with a 4.6% annual increase to June 2025, according to Stats NZ. The steepest rises were seen in dairy and meat, with butter up nearly 50% in a year, milk rising 14.3%, and cheese up 30%. Beef steak and mince also surged by over 15%. Now fruit and vegetables are starting to climb in price.
