The Toi Kiri team has announced that the next Indigenous tā moko festival will take place in 2026.
Festival Manager Chontelle Hohaia says the extra time will help address funding challenges and strengthen community ties.
Julie Paama-Pengelly, chair of the Te Tuhi Mareikura Trust, affirmed that this move will ensure the festival continues to have a meaningful impact.
