Te Pāti Māori co-leader criticised by ACT for comparing David Seymour to his lawns
The ACT Party is criticising Te Pāti Māori co-leader Rawiri Waititi over a social media post that says his lawns are getting a “good … hiding” because he’s treating them like David Seymour.
Waititi’s wife Kiri shared the post featuring a photo of him with a weedeater, saying she had told him to behave as though the grass was his ACT counterpart.
She humorously remarked that after returning home from a three-week absence, she found the grass had grown significantly and was taller than her.
In a playful twist, she encouraged Waititi to view each piece of overgrown grass as if it were ACT leader David Seymour, stating, “The lawns are getting a good fun hiding.”
An ACT Party spokesperson says, unfortunately, New Zealand needs to face up to a very sad reality. We have a race-based party that preaches racial supremacy and violence, and we’ve turned a blind eye to it because they’re Māori.
This playful exchange on social media has sparked discussions about the relationship between the two political leaders.
