An inquiry revealed that government agencies failed to implement proper safeguards to protect personal Census and COVID-19 vaccination data collected at Manurewa Marae.

President of Te Pāti Māori John Tamihere spoke with Dale Husband on the inquiry report’s findings, as Manurewa marae’s chief executive at the time, Takutai Tarsh Kemp, went on to win the Tāmaki Makaurau electorate for the party in the 2023 general elections.
