New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Winston Peters, has paid tribute to Dame Iritana Tawhiwhirangi while talking to Waateas Matthew Tukaki yesterday saying:

“it is an enormous loss of a major personality from a different age but with a modern message … and a woman of enormous character and courage.”

Peters went on to tell Tukaki that she would deal with anyone in order to get the job done and didn’t like “humbug”.
