Auckland FC triumphs in Kiwi Clasico

Over the weekend, Auckland FC and the Wellington Phoenix lit up Rarotonga Pā with New Zealand’s hottest new sporting rivalry: the Kiwi Clasico.

Over 26,000 fans packed Go Media Stadium to witness Auckland defeat Wellington 2–1, with Wellington being the first club to score against the table leaders.

Auckland FC is now five points ahead of second place on the A-League table, remaining unbeaten.

The team’s next game is in Australia against Melbourne City FC, with a return to Mount Smart Stadium scheduled for 21st December against Melbourne-based Western United FC.
