All Blacks showcase resilience in victory
Veteran sports commentator Ken Laban says the All Blacks’ performance showed their ability to rise above adversity.
On Sunday morning, in front of a crowd of over 80,000 at Twickenham in England, the All Blacks beat the English 24-22.
Laban says Damien McKenzie’s game-winning touchline conversion embodied the All Blacks’ rise from adversity.
“He started the season as the preferred number 10. Since then, there’s been all sorts of talk about Richie Moanga being rushed back, Bauden Barrett started with the 10 Jersey, and Damian Mackenzie was forced to come off the bench wearing jersey number 23 but he kicked the goal that mattered and won in the end,” says Laban.
The All Blacks’ next game is on Saturday against the top internationally-ranked team, Ireland.
