Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono continues her fathers legacy of Kotahitanga
This morning Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po Potatau Te Wherowhero VIII has led Māoridom on to Tuahiwi marae in Christchurch.
The Te Pūnuiotoka is the last Hui ā-motu that started with her dad Tuheitia at the start of the year.
Led by the Rātana Bands, the delegation included Tangata Moana and First Nations Peoples of Canada.
Three hui taumata have been held at Tūrangawaewae, Waitangi, and Heretaunga called by King Tuheitia, who, in January, emphasized the need for kotahitanga, unity, among all New Zealanders.
Te Pāti Māori MP for Te Tai Tonga, Takuta Ferris says this hui is significant for the nation as a way to hold the current coalition government to account for the law changes against Māori development.
