Black Ferns triumph over France
Sports commentator Ken Laban says Allan Bunting and the Black Ferns pulled through, beating France 39-14 in Canada yesterday.
Winger Katelyn Vaha’akolo was the standout performer, scoring a hat trick in the team’s only win in the 2024 WXV1.
Laban says this win was needed, and now they will be looking ahead to next year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup across England.
“That was a very, very important win for the Black Ferns against France. France are a quality team. It’s been a tough time for Alan Bunting, the head coach of the Black Ferns, and Ruahei Demant, the captain. It’s clear that we don’t have the dominant players that we had at the last World Cup. So there is some work to do over the next 12 months,” says Laban.
