Rotorua Hospital units spruced up
Health Minister Dr Shane Reti has opened the refurbished children’s unit at Rotorua Hospital.
It’s part of a $6 million upgrade that also included the 60-year-old birthing and perinatal units.
The improvements include state-of-the-art negative pressure rooms, enhanced air change systems, and more ensuite bathrooms, as well as redesigned office and storage spaces to better meet clinical, communication and privacy requirements for staff and patients.
Dr Reti says the upgrade ensures services meet current standards as well as providing a comfortable place for patients and whānau during what is often a stressful time.
