Entries for wahine business awards extended
The Māori Womens Development Incorporation has extended the entry period for this year’s Māori Businesswomen’s Awards until Friday.
Kaiwhakahaere Linda Clay says about 150 nominations have been received in the 17 categoeries, but as some of the documentation has been solw to arrive the deadline was extended five days.
She says it’s a great opportunity for people to look at their business and to learn from their peers.
Last year’s supreme winner was Andrea Rongonui, whose Go Media billboard business stood out for the range of business and community activities the company contributes to around the motu.
“So we’re looking for kaipakihi wahine who are making a difference in their community who are serving our people and making some serious putea as well,” Ms Clay says.
The awards ceremony will be held on October 25.
