Download AudioA Christchurch company wants to use AI to power a te reo Māori chat bot that could help keep our kaumatua company.
JIX Reality has received a grant from the Selwyn Foundation, which has launched a funded to help firms develop or adapt products, technologies or services to improve outcomes for the ageing population.
JIX founder Sakthi Ranganathan says the chat bot is based on its a virtual receptionist product, and the grant is helping them make it user friendly for the elderly.
“I’m excited we are the recipient of the Selwyn Foundation (grant) which gives us the opportunity to work with a vulnerable community of people and try to create a solution,” Mr Ranganathan says.
JIX is working with Whanganui-based iwi development organisation Te Kaahui o Rauru on the reo Māori components.
