Letele sounds trumpet on Good in the Hood
South Auckland social activist Dave Letele says he doesn’t want cash-strapped Māori community groups to miss out on a $1-million dollar funding pool.
Online applications for Z Energy’s Good in the Hood fund close this Sunday.
The fuel company asked Mr Letele to be a fund ambassador, and he’s so far managed to boost Maori participation from 3 percent to 10 percent.
“Getting me on board and all the work they’re doing behind the scenes is to make sure that we get more and more – because a lot of times when things are happening on the ground, and people are in need, quite often its the marae and Maori-led community groups on the ground first,” he says.
Good In The Hood is easy to find on the internet, and every Z Service station can give away up to $5250.
