The city experienced a milder weekend than forecast.
But Ms Makgabutlane says weather systems can be hard to predict.
“Sometimes the weather systems weather systems can be a little bit tricky. Sometimes we have weather systems where we expect large areas to get a lot of rain and then other times we’ve got weather systems where that heavier rain is expected to be more localised so while most people probably won’t see a big rainfall amount, some smaller pockets could, so it’s a bit of a balancing act,” she says.
The weather pattern is currently in the Tasman Sea.
