Māori attacks mask wider change agenda
Te Pāti Māori co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer says attacks on policies and programmes with a Māori focus are distracting voters from the real intent behind the most extreme right wing government, ever.
She says moves like the Fast Track Approvals Bill shows support for corporate interests over the environment, communities and Indigenous rights.
The coalition is making cuts large and small to the machinery of government.
“These are all specifically targeted to pretty much roll out a programme that makes sure that anything that was addressing systemic discrimination, anything that was addressing inequalities, or social economic disparities, is removed,” Ms Ngarewa-Packer says.
She says if Maori use their voting power they can determine the shape of future governments rather than the likes of Winston Peters or David Seymour.
