A dawn ceremony was held at Te Kohekohe this week to open the first 10 one-bedroom unit, with another 50 homes to come by June next year.
Te Hau Ora chief executive Tia Ashby says the first tenants will move in next week.
“We’ve had some that were in tears, tears of joy. What it means is that they’ve got some ways to secure a place that they can call home. And that’s often some of the remarks that we hear,” she says
