NZ First overtakes ACT in latest poll
New Zealand First has surged ahead of ACT in the last Guardian Essential poll before the election.
It drew 8.2 percent support, compared with 7.9 percent for ACT.
Labour also registered a burst of support three days out from the close of voting, climbing 3.4 points to 30.3 percent.
National dropped half a point to 34 percent.
The Greens polled at 10.6 percent and Te Pāti Māori 1.9 percent.
Translated into seats it would give National 44 and ACT 10 against 39 for Labour, 14 for the Greens and two for Te Pāti Māori, meaning New Zealand First’s 11 seats would be critical.
