Raffle promoting rangatahi voting

A social media influencer doesn’t believe there are issues with offering a prize for rangatahi registering to vote – because it’s vital young people have a say in their future.
Nineteen-year-old Te Kahukura Boynton, the founder of the Māori Millionaire financial literacy platform – will today draw the winner of a $500-dollar Noel Leeming voucher for a rangatahi who sent a photo of themselves filling out a voter registration form.
The giveaway is a joint promotion with the New Zealand Māori Council.
Ms Boynton says some parties support rangatahi aspirations more than others.
“On election day our future is decided, and we really need our voices heard as minorities and we need to be able to vote – and we need to support parties that are going to have our best interests at heart,” she says.
Details about the giveaway are on Te Kahukura Boynton’s page at themaorimillionaire_ instagram.
